Dunes, beach and nature nearby
At Op Diek, you’ll find yourself in the middle of Den Hoorn, although the dunes are just at the end of the street. You can reach the beach in ten minutes by bicycle – which can be rented nearby. Near our hotel you will also find Mokbaai, a salt marsh area, and De Geul, a valley between the dunes. In these nature reserves that belong to the NaFonal Park Dunes of Texel, you have a good chance of spoing many birds, such as spoonbills, cormorants and gulls. From mudflat hiking to culinary fun on Texel
Obviously, you can also go mudflat hiking, biking, walking or shopping in one of the other villages on Texel. Every week in our hotel we offer an overview of the acFviFes and excursions being organised elsewhere. Would you like to flex your culinary muscles using ingredients from the Wadden Sea? Then sign up for a cooking workshop. Would you rather savour someone else’s culinary achievements? Then there are plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity of our hotel, including even a Michelin restaurant within walking distance. In short, a midweek on Texel is barely enough to do all the island has to offer. But it’s certainly a good start!
